Notes
A requester can withdraw a submitted Approval Workflow at any time while it remains in Pending status. This unlocks all affected tasks and permanently removes the request.

When Should You Withdraw a Workflow?

You need to revise the proposed dates before submitting for approval again

The business requirement changed and the task update is no longer needed

Incorrect task details or wrong title/description were submitted

You want to change the scope of the change before seeking approval

Steps to Withdraw a Workflow Request

Step 1 — Navigate — Planner → Planner Options → Workflow → Sent Tab

Step 2 — Locate — Find the pending workflow using the Search bar or Status filter

Step 3 — Click — Click the trash (Withdraw) icon in the rightmost column

Step 4 — Confirm — Read the warning dialog and click Withdraw to confirm

NotesWithdrawal is permanent and cannot be undone. The workflow request is deleted and cannot be restored. All locked tasks will be immediately unlocked.

What Happens After Withdrawal?

The workflow request is permanently deleted from the system

All locked tasks are immediately unlocked and return to editable state
