What Are The Levels In The Process Hierarchy Model?


The levels include Line of Business, Process Group, Scope Item, Scope Item Variant, and Process Step.



  • Level 0 – Line of Business: High-level aggregation of company functionality.

  • Level 1 – Process Group: A bundle of processes dealing with similar tasks and activities.

  • Level 2 – Scope Item: Aggregates business-oriented functions or steps to fulfill a business mission.

  • Level 3 – Scope Item Variant: A variant to fulfill the same business mission but in a different manner.

  • Level 4 – Process Step: An activity related to exactly one object, forming a part of a Business Process or Variant.
