How to govern the project management effectively with KTern.AI Segment Dahboard?

KTern.AI Segment Dashboard offers insights into project segments, including start and end dates, phase progress, and milestone achievements. This feature enhances project segment management and coordination by providing segment-wise statistics. Visualizations ensure project transparency and accountability.
Let's deep dive into the steps to use Segment Dashboard:
  1. Once you log into the KTern.AI application and navigate to the respective project and portfolio, click on the Segment Dashboard to access the pre-built KPIs.



  2. Overview status of the project: This KPI helps in displaying the overall stats of the project



    1. Program Start Date: The Start Date of the program
    2. Program Progres: Progress of the Program
    3. Current Phase: The Current Phase of the program
    4. Program End Date: The End Date of the program

  3. Program Momentum: Program Momentum KPI visually tracks the progress of a program through various phases, showing both completed and remaining days based on the milestone completion and status of the tasks.



  4. Phase-Wise Distribution: The phase-wise distribution KPI helps in analyzing the status of each phase based on the weightage, and status of the task.



    1. Prepare and Explore phases are represented in GREEN color which states it is COMPLETED based on the milestone and status of planned and actual tasks are completed 100 %.
    2. The realize phase is indicated in BLUE color which states the respective phase is in ACTIVE based on the weightage of the task the blue color inside the chart represents the planned % task and the green color indicates the actual % of tasks (planned was 48% and actual is 73%).
    3. Deploy and Realize are in GREY and 0% because the tasks in the respective phases are not yet started and they are in NEW.

  5. Year-Wise and Month-Wise Stats: This KPI will provide a comprehensive analysis of the project's year-wise distribution by month and its status. Additionally, it will break down the monthly progress into weekly updates.



    1. Based on the image above, we are currently in the Realize Phase, which runs until September. Tasks for Month 1 to Month 3 have been completed, tasks for Month 4 to Month 7 are overdue, and tasks for Month 8, which is the current month, are in progress. Additionally, Month 9 tasks, indicated in white, are upcoming.
    2. Furthermore, the sub-phase, Integrated UAT with business, spans 5 weeks. Weeks 1 and 2 of July have been completed, while Weeks 3 and 4 of July are overdue, and Week 5 of August has been completed as per the plan.

  6. Road map for Next Steps: The KPIs will be instrumental in analysing the phases and sub-phases outlined for the project.



    1. As you can see in the above images, the phases are distributed as Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, and Hypercare.
    2. Once you expand the phase, it will get expanded and sub-phases will be displayed.

  7. Planned vs Actual: The KPI will help in tracking the current activities and tasks for the current phase/wave. 



  8. Segment Wise (GSI Coverage): This KPI will help you in analysing the status of GSI for the respective of Line of business and Scope item.


    As you can see from the above image,  All GSI work for the respective scope item has been planned (100%), with 86% completed and 14% currently active. The chart on the right analyses the status of meetings with respective to scope item selected.

  9. Segment Wise Statistics (Signoffs): This Dashboard will help in analysing the status of signoffs with the respective Scope item selected

Hence Segment Dashboard provides a clear and visual representation of the entire project's progress, broken down into key phases. This allows stakeholders to quickly assess which phases are completed, in progress, or yet to begin, helping in effective time management and resource allocation
