How to Create Custom Boards, Create Tasks, and Manage Tasks in Custom Boards ?


Custom Boards

  • Custom Boards in KTern empower you to create personalized boards that are fully tailored to your unique project or business needs.

  • These boards enable seamless tracking of tasks, issues, and tickets with unlimited customization options for columns, giving you full control over your workflow.

  • For additional customizations, simply raise a ticket in KTern's Ticket Center, and our dedicated support team will ensure you get the enhancements you need.

Steps to Create a Custom Board:

  • Click the hamburger icon at the top left and select “Transformation Hub” from the navigation bar.



  • From the dropdown, select “Boards.”



  • On the Boards page, navigate to the Custom Boards tab located on the right.



  • Click the “+” icon to initiate the creation of a new board.



  • Enter a title in the “Board Title” field and click the Save icon. Your board is now ready to use.



Steps to Create Tasks:

  • Click the “+” icon at the bottom of the board to create a task.



  • Enter the task’s title, set the start and end dates using the date picker, and assign a status (defaults to "New"). Assign an owner by clicking the human icon, which will display all project members in a dropdown list.



  • Finalize the task by clicking the Launch icon. If you decide not to proceed, click the X icon to discard the task.





Managing Tasks:

  • Hover over the human icon to view the full name of the assigned stakeholder. Hover over task names to see full titles or click them for a detailed view if they appear truncated.



  • Use the expand icon to switch to an Excel-style view of tasks for better organization and clarity.





  • Add single or multiple rows to the board for easy bulk-pasting of tasks.



  • Update revised dates using the Revised Start and Revised End columns for accurate scheduling.



  • Attach references to tasks by clicking the attachment icon in the Reference column and linking the relevant items.



  • Utilize filters to organize tasks effectively and hide unnecessary columns for a focused view.





  • Delete tasks effortlessly if they are no longer needed.



  • Use the download icon to export your task list to Excel for offline access.



Additional Features:

  • To display tasks in the CTAs of the PSR Dashboard, add the work package name in the Tags field.



  • Enable this feature by raising a ticket through the KTern Ticket Center

  • Ensure all updates are saved by clicking the Save button after making changes.
