How to Bulk Edit and Update Work Items in KTern?


Bulk editing and updating work items in KTern allows you to save time, maintain consistency, and improve collaboration. By using this feature, you can efficiently manage multiple tasks and eliminate repetitive manual updates.

Steps to Bulk Edit and Update Work Items

1. Log in to KTern
  • Log in to your KTern account.



  • Navigate to the desired project.



  • You will land on the Bookmarks page by default.



2. Navigate to the Relevant Section
  • Use My Workspace to bulk edit tasks assigned to you.



  • Use Transformation Hub - Tasks to bulk edit all tasks within the project.



I. Bulk Editing in My Workspace

3. Access Your Tasks
  • Go to the My Tasks tab to view tasks assigned to you.

4. Select Tasks for Editing
  • Select the checkboxes of at least two tasks. A pencil icon will appear, enabling the bulk edit feature.
     


5.Open the Edit Drawer
  • Click on the pencil icon to open the edit drawer. 



  • Update the following fields:

    • Overview Section: Status, Type, Priority.



    • Stakeholder Information Section: Assigned To, Participants.



    • Planned Vs Actual Section: Planned Duration (hours), Actual Duration (hours), Planned Location, Actual Location, Planned Environment, Actual Environment.



6. Apply Changes
  • Example: To update the participants' list for multiple tasks, select the checkboxes for the tasks. A drawer will open; navigate to the "Stakeholder Information" section, make the necessary changes, and click Update to apply them.

II. Bulk Editing in Transformation Hub - Tasks

3. Access All Tasks
  • Navigate to the Workitems tab to view all tasks assigned to various stakeholders.



4. Select Tasks for Editing
  • Select the checkboxes of at least two tasks. A pencil icon will appear, enabling the bulk edit feature.



5. Open the Edit Drawer
  • Click on the pencil icon to open the edit drawer.
  • Update fields such as:

    • Status (e.g., change to Completed).

    • Type.

    • Priority.

    • Other relevant details (similar to My Workspace).

6. Apply Changes
  • Example: To mark multiple tasks as completed, select the tasks, update their status to "Completed," and click Update to save the changes.







Recommendations for Effective Bulk Editing
  • Ensure you select at least two tasks to enable the bulk edit feature.
  • Double-check changes before clicking Update to avoid errors.
