How does the landscape Assessment increases the efficiency of system conversion planning?

Introduction

Landscape Assessment is a part of KTern's Digital Maps stream which helps in understanding the landscape of the ECC system connected to the platform. The Assessment helps in providing a detailed information of the system based on :
1. Database Type
2. Operating System
3.  ECC version
4. Processor Type
5. Resources Allocated
6. License purchases and many more.

Users Overview

The platform helps the system analyze the existing SAP ERP users and their licensing types. The assessment helps in finding out the total number of users, and further classifying them into active or inactive category.
The platform provides following information about the users:
1. Name
2. User Type
3. License Type
4. System
5. Activity
Activity of an user consists of the last login date and status whether the user is active or not.

Add-on Analytics

KTern helps in classifying the add-ons as compatible or incompatible add-ons. The platform automates the process of add-on compatibility check.
KTern helps in classifying the add-ons further into category based on:
1. Software components
2. Installed products
3. Correction packages
The transition from ECC to S/4 HANA can stop if there is an incompatible add-on.

Archiving Recommendation

The archiving recommendation feature analyzes and identifies the resources which can be archived and the further opens the option to store the same in third-party storage database.
KTern automates the entire recommendation process and provides a detailed report, the results include:
1. Documents archiving potential
2. Tables archiving potential
3. Custom programs archiving potential.

The customer can decide to archive the data based on the KTern's archiving recommendation and their country's legal compliance

Interfaces Review

As the transition takes place only of the digital core while converting a SAP ECC system to a SAP S/4 HANA system, the interfaces should work in the same way as they used to. KTern performs the Interface review check to determine whether the connection to S/4 HANA is compatible or not.
SAP Interface offers the possibility of connecting external systems to ECC

The landscape assessment helps in understanding the licensing model, type of licenses required and the number of license required for conversion, this helps in making the right decision w.r.t license purchase before the conversion.
KTern also provides the option of downloading the user analysis report.
